Esperanza Diaz Briscoe

Esperanza “Espy” Diaz Briscoe is a founding partner of BOZ Legal and leads the firm’s insurance defense practice group. She began her career in New Orleans, Louisiana where she initially practiced as a plaintiffs’ attorney handling a wide variety of matters in trials, appeals and international arbitration until she was recruited by a prestigious defense firm where she specialized in the defense of asbestos claims against shipyards and product manufacturers as well as insurers and commercial entities in first and third party disputes. In 1997, Ms. Briscoe moved back to her home town of Miami where she has remained an ardent trial attorney successfully defending domestic and international insurers and commercial entities in lawsuits throughout the State of Florida.


Ms. Briscoe has over 30 years of trial experience in State, Federal and Administrative courts involving a wide variety of matters, including complex first and third party insurance defense, coverage, commercial litigation, product liability, premises liability and construction defect litigation.


Michelle G. Ortiz

Michelle G. Ortiz is one of BOZ Legal’s founders and serves as a Managing Partner. Her practice primarily includes Property and Casualty claims, focusing on First-Party Insurance claims (Residential and Commercial), Coverage Recommendations for Insurers, Bad Faith Litigation, Third-Party Liability claims, and Family Law matters. Michelle has successfully argued and defended Motions for Summary Judgment and obtained dismissals with prejudice for her clients. As an experienced litigator, Michelle develops case strategies that result in favorable resolutions of complex cases.

Prior to co-founding BOZ Legal,  she was a Business Unit Leader and Managing Partner of a large First Party Property and General Insurance defense Department located in Miami at a statewide, full-service law firm, where she focused on insurance defense, general liability, and family law matters. Michelle has extensive experience litigating property insurance claims and representing property insurance companies.

In the area of Family Law, Michelle has lectured in several forums discussing domestic violence, stalking, and sexual violence. She has participated as lead counsel in over 150 bench trials in the area of family law with specific focus on matters involving domestic violence and timesharing disputes. She has provided training on the issues regarding family law to various community agencies and attorneys.

Michelle received her J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2004 where she graduated top 5% of her class (Cum Laude).  She has been practicing law for 16 years.


Bianca Zuluaga

Bianca Zuluaga is one of the founders of BOZ Legal and she serves as a Managing Partner. Bianca primarily focuses her practice on First Party Property Insurance Defense, which she has developed an expertise in through her defense of property insurance carriers in a variety of residential and commercial cases both pre-suit and during litigation.

During her career, Bianca has successfully handled numerous cases through trial and has successfully argued Motions for Fraud Upon the Court, Motions for Summary Judgement and 57.105 Motions for Sanctions. She has also been selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers for the years of 2017 – 2020.

Bianca previously defended cruise lines in personal injury actions involving crewmembers and passengers, as well as large cargo companies in shipping disputes. She also has experience with transactional and employment issues, which she gained through an internship she completed at Royal Caribbean International.

Bianca earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Florida, where she graduated cum laude. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. During law school, she interned with the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida and she was a fellow in the University of Miami’s Professional Responsibility and Ethics Program, where she conducted presentations to bar associations and law firms on various ethical issues.


Alisha Marano

Alisha Marano is a Partner at BOZ Legal who focuses her practice on First Party Property Insurance Defense. Alisha also assists with the handling of matters related to Family Law and Criminal Defense. 

Alisha has experience representing insurance carriers throughout the state of Florida in first party property insurance cases. 

Before practicing insurance defense, Alisha worked at the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office where she was a deputy attorney general for the Division of Criminal Justice, Office of the Insurance Fraud Prosecutor. In addition, Alisha worked as an attorney representing clients in their cases involving divorce, child custody and support modifications, paternity, and other family related matters in Florida.

Alisha is licensed to practice in both Florida and New Jersey and earned her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law where she was a Staff Editor for the St. Thomas Law Review.Alisha earned her Bachelor and Master’s Degree, cum laude, in Criminal Justice from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.


Cristina Bianchi

Cristina J. Bianchi is a Partner at BOZ Legal where she focuses her practice on First Party Property Insurance Defense, General Liability, and Criminal Defense.

Prior to joining the firm, Cristina was an attorney at one of the top law firms in South Florida where she gained extensive experience litigating insurance defense claims. Cristina began her career as an Assistant Public Defender at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office where she represented indigent clients in juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony cases from client intake to disposition. Throughout her career as an Assistant Public Defender, Cristina litigated numerous bench trials, jury trials, and evidentiary motions in criminal court.

Cristina earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management from Florida International University. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from St. Thomas University School of Law. While in school, Cristina was a member of the St. Thomas Law Review and Trial Team. She also received the CALI Book Award for Legal Writing and Research and Advanced Legal Writing and Research.


Chelsea Pietrzak

Chelsea Pietrzak is an Attorney at BOZ Legal where she assists in handling all matters related to First Party Property Insurance Defense.   

Prior to joining the firm, Chelsea was an attorney at a large law firm in South Florida where she gained extensive experience litigating insurance defense claims.

Chelsea received her Bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Florida Gulf Coast University. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from Florida International University College of Law. While enrolled in law school, Chelsea served as an intern for the Broward County Public Defender’s Office. She was also a Research Assistant for Dr. Stanley Fish where she assisted with publishing various literary works.


Krystina Dorta

Krystina is a member of the Florida Bar. She focuses her practice on First Party Property Insurance Defense and Family Law.

Krystina was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She received her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Florida International University, and her J.D from the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. where she was the recipient of the Faculty Merit Scholarship. During law school, Krystina was the Executive Editor for the Journal of Law and Technology and Vice President of Outreach Executive Board for the Latin American Law School Association. She was published in the Journal of Law and Technology in Spring 2021.


Eric Gressman

Eric Gressman is the Senior Litigator at BOZ Legal, and he serves as the Managing Partner of the Trial Division of Briscoe Ortiz Zuluaga, PLLC. Eric’s trial practice is varied and includes jury trials in defense of Medical Malpractice claims, personal injury defense, civil rights suits, White Collar Criminal Defense, employment claims, and Third as well as First Party Property Insurance Defense.  Eric has developed expertise in trial practice through taking over 500 cases to jury and bench trials.   Eric also has handled, as lead counsel,  over 100 appeals to the Third District Court of Appeals, the Florida Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. 

During his career, Eric has successfully handled numerous cases in state and federal courts.  Eric is a member in good standing of Florida and the Washington, D.C. Bars.   Eric was admitted to the D.C. Bar based on a very high score on the Multi-State Bar Exam.  Eric is a member in good standing of the United States Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit Court, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.  

Eric also received in 1990 and in 2017 awards from the Miami-Dade County Attorney for exemplary and distinguished service to Miami-Dade County and its County Attorney’s Office.   Eric is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami School of Law and at the University of Miami’s Paralegal Program.  Eric has taught courses in Legal Writing, Trial Practice, Advanced Appellate Advocacy, Torts, Contracts, and the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.  Eric has lectured for law firms and for CLE sponsored events regarding trial practice.

Eric earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degrees from the University of Michigan where he graduated with the highest honors.  Eric earned numerous academic scholarships based on his grade point average and test scores.  Eric was accepted into the Honors Program and the Accelerated Bachelors and Graduate Program at the University of Michigan and at the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.  He then went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was the administrative note editor of a law review.    Eric published law review articles in law journals at the University of Michigan Law School and at George Washington University Law School. During law school, Eric was permitted to try DUI cases.   Eric went on to work for the Miami-Dade County Attorney’s Office where he took over 400 cases to trial by juries during 36 years where he defended Miami-Dade County and Jackson Memorial Hospital in civil suits.  Eric rose to the level of County Attorney’s Chief of the Torts Division, where he supervised  12 Assistant County Attorneys and over 1,000 personal injury and civil rights cases.  Eric is now pleased to continue his role to work with and help the bright, young attorneys at BOZ Legal. Eric currently represents the City of Coral Gables and the City of North Miami, doctors and nurses as well as numerous insurance companies.   Eric also volunteers for the Guardian Ad Litem Program and CABA pro bono program to defend the rights of children and to represent indigent parents in divorce proceedings.


Adriana Molina

Adriana Molina is an Associate Attorney at BOZ Legal where she focuses her practice on First Party Property Insurance Defense. Adriana began her career at BOZ Legal as a Law Clerk where she developed a unique insight into handling cases from the pre-suit phase through litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Adriana completed a legal internship with the City of Coral Gables where she gained extensive legal research and writing experience, specifically using municipal codes, county regulations, and Florida Statutes to assist attorneys in policy drafting.

Adriana earned her Bachelor of Arts in English, cum laude, from Florida International University. During her time at Florida International University, Adriana was a chair member of Phi Alpha Delta, a premier legal professional organization with a diverse membership that cultivates leaders and serves as a voice for the role of legal professionalism in a legal society. She then went out to earn her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from St. Thomas University School of Law where she was a member of the Elder Law Society and Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Society.
